We would like to express our gratitude to the Heliopoulos Foundation for officially approving your participation in the “Voices of the Aegean” call for proposals, as part of our joint proposal with the volunteer group “Kimolistes” https://www.kimolistes.com/  and the nonprofit organization Imagine Heritage, titled “Cycladic Imprints: From Italian Travelogues to the Contemporary Oral Traditions and Arts of Kimolos,”
Kimolos possesses a wealth of intangible heritage that remains “invisible.” This proposal addresses the need to highlight this heritage by linking the historical sources of the Italian traveler Cristoforo Buondelmonti (15th century) with the living traditions of Kimolos.
The collaboration of the three organizations will achieve the project’s main objectives: the integration of history and education, the creation of a “Map of Memories” through the production of a digital guide that will lead visitors to the island’s sites of intangible cultural value, thereby contributing to the empowerment of the local community.
