Maria-Eleni Gotsopoulou is an MSc student in Applied Ecology and Environmental Management at the University of Patras, Greece, with a strong academic background in biology and a focus on biodiversity conservation, ecology, and environmental research. With excellent academic performance and distinctions, including a scholarship for postgraduate studies, she combines scientific knowledge with hands-on experience in both laboratory and fieldwork.
Her research interests include ecological interactions, biodiversity monitoring, and conservation biology, with current work focusing on species behavior and evolutionary ecology. She has participated in international conferences, presenting both poster and oral contributions, and has been actively involved in scientific communities such as the Hellenic Zoological Society.
Maria-Eleni has complemented her academic path with certifications from organizations such as the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Key Biodiversity Area (KBA) Partnership, strengthening her expertise in ecosystem assessment and conservation practices. She has also contributed to environmental initiatives through volunteer work with organizations including ARCTOUROS and iSEA.
Currently, she is participating in an Erasmus mobility program in Portugal at the research center CIBIO (Research Center in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources), expanding her research experience in an international and interdisciplinary environment.
