Cyclades Unified had the honor of participating for the first time as a new organization in the CPF ISLANDERS’ FORUM 2024, CPF Islanders’ Forum 2024, 2-day open events, SANTORINI,
following an invitation from the Cyclades Preservation Fund (CPF) andits executive director, Ms. Anny Mitropoulou.

We shared unique moments in Megalochori, Santorini, 18/10/24-20/10/24, together with our friend from Kimolistes ngo, Mrs. Beba Sardi, meeting representatives of the islands, #cpfislandersforum2024 who fight daily to protect wildlife in the #Cyclades, in the #Aegean Sea.

They initiated us with their training and important presentations on their work # cycladescareforwildlife, with the reintegration of the Cretan Sfikiaris (Honey Buzzard) and a sweet one-eyed owl, which traveled over the vineyards surrounding the facilities of Vedema, a Luxury Collection Resort, Santorini.
We loved the presentations on sea turtles and seals, and all the instructions on how to behave when we are near these beautiful sea animals really stuck in my mind! Ms. Akritopoulou’s talk on studies of
dolphins in the Aegean Sea and endangered species kept us all hooked. At Cyclades Unified, we are delighted with the warm welcome we received.

CPF ISLANDERS’ FORUM – Cyclades Preservation Fund The 2-day event was filled with meaningful discussions with the exchange of fruitful ideas among participants numbering around 90,
representatives of 22 islands, and 60 associations. The fact that we got to know better governmental bodies and create important coalitions for the environment and cultural heritage in the Cyclades filled us with great joy! Sessions on wildlife protection and marine protected areas, including the protection of sea turtles, dolphins, and seals highlighted the importance of constant information and educational approaches to young and small communities.
