Our founder Agatha Rodi was selected to attend the  international digital public history project exploring how difficult pasts are remembered, interpreted, and shared in the digital age. Over the coming weeks, the selected participants will take part in a series of online workshops exploring public history, oral testimony, digital storytelling, difficult histories, democratic participation, and digital memory. 

They  will collaboratively develop short digital public history projects that will contribute to the project’s digital exhibition and public activities.

Funded by the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future — EVZ Foundation as part of Histoday 2026: “No Time to Forget. For Democracy, Facts and Dignity.” https://www.stiftung-evz.de/en/ The programme aims to bring together such an international group of participants from different academic, professional, and cultural backgrounds.

The project explores how societies remember, interpret, contest, and communicate
difficult histories in the digital age.

The project asks whose stories become part of public history, which experiences remain overlooked, and who has the power to preserve, interpret, and share the past. It also examines
how digital media shape collective memory, historical understanding, and public debate.

Bringing together students, researchers, educators, cultural professionals, and members of the public, the project creates a collaborative space for critical reflection, exchange, and practical work.

Through workshops, oral testimony, archival research, digital mapping, and storytelling,
participants investigate historical narratives, identify absent or marginalised voices,
and transform research into accessible digital public-history content.
