Global Thinkers Mentors

Cyclades Unified began a new chapter through its participation in the Global Thinkers Forum Mentoring Program, founded by Oxford University’s Saïd Business School and supported by Queen Rania of Jordan. Founder Agatha Rodi was selected as the Greek mentee among 33 global participants. Aligned with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, the program marked the organization’s strategic starting point. With eight months of mentorship from Marina Antoniou, Cyclades Unified strengthened its capacity to deliver sustainable impact across the Cycladic Islands.

CPF ISLANDERS’ FORUM 2024

18 October 2024

Cyclades Unified participated for the first time in the CPF Islanders’ Forum 2024 in Santorini, following an invitation from the Cyclades Preservation Fund. Over two days, representatives from 22 islands and 60 associations exchanged best practices on wildlife and marine protection. Highlights included training on bird reintegration, sea turtles, seals, and dolphin research, plus coalition-building with NGOs and public bodies, reinforcing education, collaboration, and long-term environmental and cultural heritage protection in the Cyclades through shared learning and strategic regional partnerships.

StoryTelling Waves – Milos

Our organization partnered with Kimolistes NGO, with funding from the J.F. Costopoulos Foundation, to deliver the “Storytelling Waves” workshops across six Cycladic islands. The program, led by Agatha Rodi, uses storytelling and her book A Young Kimolistas to introduce students to sustainability, environmental issues, and cultural heritage. The initiative aims to collect students’ input from each island and produce a collective book preserving local traditions. The workshops operate under the auspices of the Hellenic Tourism Organization and the Municipality of Kimolos, within the “Kimolos Experience” Festival.

Posidonia Festinal 2024 – Rafina

We participated in the 2nd Posidonia Festival in Rafina, presenting our book A Young Kimolistas. We thank Ms. Valerie Vassilikos for creating the festival, Eugenia Athina Fois for coordinating the event, and the Cyclades Preservation Fund team for their support. Inspiring discussions with Eirini Renata Karathanou and Evangelos Paravas gave us hope for preserving Posidonia meadows.

THI Volunteer Connect program

Our organisation participates in the THI Volunteer Connect program. It serves as a bridge between the global Greek community and local non profit organisations in need of support to address important challenges, fostering a stronger bond as well as empowering a sense of community. The main idea is to strengthen cultural ties while starting a transformative journey that promotes volunteerism and contributes to better communities.
